In the game
The Spinning Coaster uses the same compact track as the Wild Mouse: tight turns and steep slopes, but no loops. Its round cars seat four each in trains of two cars, and the spinning makes it the most nauseating coaster type in the game: its extra nausea is four times the Wild Mouse’s.
That makes it a ride to build with care. Guests with weak stomachs come off it queasy, so a sick-bag layout full of hairpins can leave your paths in a mess and your medics busy. Short, varied layouts with room to breathe rate best.
In Park Baron the Spinning Coaster can rise 53 m above the ground under its track. It can build steep slopes and tight turns, but not loops and corkscrews and vertical drops and top hats. Its trains run 2 cars of 4 seats, 8 riders a train, and its station is 4 to 6 tiles long. Track costs $75 a piece and the station $1,200; it costs $800 a month to run, and guests pay $3.5 a ride by default. The type adds 0.50 excitement to whatever the track earns and 1.2 nausea, and its rolling friction is 0.013. Children are too short to ride it. It is free to build.
Its showpiece design, Cyclone Spin, climbs 36 m, reaches 75 km/h and pulls 3.8 g, with 0 inversions over 248 m of track and a 32-second ride. It rates 6.18 excitement, 5.18 intensity and 5.21 nausea, costs $7,302 and fills 7 × 17 tiles.

Building tips
- Mix tight turns with straight dips rather than piling hairpin on hairpin.
- Put toilets and a bench or two near the exit, and keep a handyman on that path.
- Check the nausea rating after every test run: it rises faster on this type than on any other.
The real thing
Real spinning coasters let each car rotate freely, so the spin depends on the riders’ weight and the forces on each turn.
