This is a plain-language policy for an indie game in early development. It will be reviewed and expanded before we add anything that changes it. If something here is unclear, ask us.
What we store
- Your account: email address, display name and a hashed password (we never see or store the password itself).
- Play time: how long you have played, counted on our servers for fair leaderboards and anti-cheat checks.
- Cloud saves and settings: the parks you save to your account, your game settings and your campaign medals.
- Leaderboards: your parks' names and scores, and, only if you choose one, the country and city you place your park in. Top parks may also store a small snapshot picture and a copy of the save so results can be checked.
- Visits and reviews: if you are a Premium Baron and allow visits, a copy of your park so other players can walk around it; the reviews you write about other parks, which only that park's owner can read.
- Purchases: what you bought and when, and a receipt by email. Card payments are handled by our payment provider (Stripe, through our payment gateway); we never receive or store your card number. So the payment and its receipt show who bought, we share your account email, display name and country with the gateway and Stripe when you check out.
- Emails you ask for: if you ask the site to email you the game's link, we send that one message and keep no list of addresses.
- Bug reports you send: when you use “🐞 Report a bug” in the game, we keep what you write, the things you mark as related, a screenshot of the park view, a copy of the park you had open (kept on its own: your saves are not changed), and technical details to find the bug: the game version, the in-game date and speed, the camera and tool, your game settings, your browser, operating system, graphics card, screen size, frame rate and memory, and the game's recent warnings and errors in that tab. The form lists all of this before you send, and you can leave out the screenshot and the park copy. A report carries your account number and nothing else about you (no email, no password), and only the Park Baron team can read it. The error log it includes is kept in the page's memory only, never in your browser's storage, and is sent only inside a report you choose to send.
What we show publicly
Your display name, your park names, scores, snapshots and the country and city you chose appear on leaderboards, park pages, player profiles and the world globe. Your email address is never shown.
Your browser
Your browser keeps only one thing: a sign-in cookie that scripts on the page can't read. Your saves, settings and medals live in your account on our servers, never in your browser's storage. We use no advertising and no analytics cookies. To see how the site and the game are used, our own server counts page views, game milestones and completed purchases and passes those counts to Google Analytics. Your browser never loads any Google code and nothing is stored in it; the server sends Google only the page, a rough country and a visitor code that changes every day and can't identify you (never your name or email). Cloudflare, which delivers the site, may also count page views with its cookie-free Web Analytics. The card form at checkout is Stripe's, and it loads only when you open the checkout.
Why we keep it
Only to run the game: sign you in, know whether your account is free or Premium, keep your saves and purchases, run fair leaderboards, and find and fix the bugs you report. We do not sell or share your data, except with the providers who host the servers and process payments on our behalf.
Deleting your data
You can ask us to delete your account and everything linked to it at any time. Contact us on X at @avniyayin or by email at [email protected] and we'll handle it promptly.
Children
Park Baron is a family-friendly game, but accounts are meant for players aged 13 and over. Younger players should play with a parent's account.
