In the game
The Launched Coaster is the only type with launch track. Launch pieces go on flat, straight, unbanked track and push the train up to the type’s launch speed in a few seconds; from there it can climb a top hat, plunge down a vertical drop, loop and corkscrew.
Launch track costs more than ordinary track, and the Launched Coaster has the most expensive station in the game, so it is a late, rich-park ride. In return it reaches high speeds without a slow climb, and its type bonus is among the biggest.
In Park Baron the Launched Coaster can rise 134 m above the ground under its track. It can build steep slopes, loops and corkscrews, vertical drops and top hats and launch track, but not tight turns. Its launch track pushes the train up to 131 km/h. Its trains run 5 cars of 4 seats, 20 riders a train, and its station is 5 to 10 tiles long. Track costs $130 a piece and the station $2,400; it costs $1,300 a month to run, and guests pay $5 a ride by default. The type adds 0.55 excitement to whatever the track earns, and its rolling friction is 0.010. Children are too short to ride it. It comes with Park Baron Premium.
Its showpiece design, Hypersonic, climbs 18 m, reaches 95 km/h and pulls 4.6 g, with 4 inversions over 502 m of track and a 46-second ride. It rates 10.45 excitement, 7.38 intensity and 7.09 nausea, costs $20,053 and fills 38 × 40 tiles.

Building tips
- Put the launch right after the station, then a top hat: the classic launched opening.
- A second launch later in the ride can rescue a layout where the train would otherwise run out of speed.
- Test often: a top hat that is too tall for the launch speed sends the train rolling back, and the test run names the piece that failed.
The real thing
Real launched coasters use linear motors or hydraulic catapults instead of a lift hill, reaching top speed within seconds of leaving the station.
