Start with Sunny Meadows
Sign up (it’s free), choose Campaign and start the first chapter, Sunny Meadows: a flat meadow, a small loan and guests who are easy to please, at first. Give your park a name of your own; it goes on the gate, your saves and the leaderboards. The park opens paused, so take your time: press Space when you’re ready.
1. Lay the paths
A starter path already leads in from the gate. Open the Paths window (P) and drag a loop or a main street from it. Guests only walk on paths, so everything you build must touch one. Keep it simple and connected: a circuit is better than dead ends, and plazas give crowds room.
2. Build a first ride
Open the ride menu (R) and pick something cheap and popular: a Merry-Go-Round, Spinning Teacups or a Ferris Wheel. Place it next to the path, then its entrance (IN) and exit (OUT) on the path, and a queue line from the entrance if you like; the ride window offers a button for whatever is still missing. Open the ride and set a ticket price, or leave it on auto.
Build a few different kinds: guests have tastes. Kids love gentle rides, teens want thrills, seniors like a view and families like rides they can share. Variety raises your park rating too.
3. Food, drinks, toilets and a place to sit
Guests get hungry, thirsty and tired, and they need the toilet. From the Shops menu (O) add a food stall, a drinks stall and toilets near the rides, then benches, bins and lamps along the paths (Scenery, T). A Blueprint (U) builds a whole food court or rest stop in one click. Without bins your paths fill with litter, and litter pulls the rating down fast.
4. Hire a handyman and a mechanic
Open Staff (Shift+S). A handyman sweeps litter, empties bins and cleans up after sick guests; a mechanic inspects your rides and repairs breakdowns. One of each is enough at first. Later come entertainers, security guards, gardeners, medics and more: 11 roles in all, each hired from applicants with their own traits.
5. Set the admission and open the gates
In the Park window (K), set the admission price and press Open park. Guests will only pay what your rides are worth: the fair admission grows with the excitement of your open rides, and guests turn back at the gate if you ask much more. A cheap ticket earns “great value” thoughts; an expensive one, empty paths.
6. Listen to your guests
Click any guest to read their thoughts: “I’m hungry”, “This path is disgusting”, “Too pricey!”. They tell you what to fix. Every party leaves a 1 to 5 star review when they go home, and your average matters for the scenario’s goal. The Park window’s rating tab shows every factor of your park rating: happiness, rides, variety, scenery, cleanliness, broken rides and reviews.
7. Grow: coasters, research and money
Keep an eye on Finances (M). Pay back the loan when you can, and invest in research: your labs discover new rides, shops and scenery over time. When you can afford it, build your first roller coaster, a Junior Coaster is the classic starter: every type has three ready-made designs, or build your own piece by piece and test it before it opens. Guests expect a little more every month, so keep adding.
Common first-park mistakes
The usual trouble is predictable, and the game always says what’s wrong and where:
- a ride whose entrance or exit doesn’t touch a path (nobody can ride it);
- no toilets or bins (unhappy guests and dirty paths);
- prices far above fair (guests skip the ride or turn back at the gate);
- no mechanic (breakdowns pile up and broken rides cost rating);
- only one kind of ride (half your guests find nothing they like).
